This morning, after a celebration of Mass at St. Anthony Catholic church, Columbus Catholic Schools Executive Director Jeff Ohnoutka was honored as the 2024 Archdiocese of Omaha Rural Administrator of the Year. Columbus Catholic Schools staff were in attendance along with some CCS board members to congratulate him on this prestigious honor.
Ohnoutka has led Columbus Catholic Schools for the last year as the executive director and was an integral part in creating the CCS system. Before his time as executive director, he served as the President/Principal at Scotus Central Catholic for seven years. Before entering administration, Ohnoutka taught for 11 years at Scotus in the history department. He was also the head boys’ basketball coach for nine seasons. Prior to his arrival at Scotus, he taught and coached at Cedar Catholic for seven years. Ohnoutka has spent 25 years in Catholic education as a teacher, coach and administrator.
Ohnoutka’s passion for the Columbus Catholic Schools system is unmatched. He is a true believer in Catholic education and how it can change lives forever. Ohnoutka is married to Deb, a 7th grade English and Literature teacher at Scotus, and they have five children: Katie, Ryan, Kristen, Megan and Lindsay, who all graduated from Scotus Central Catholic.
