At Columbus Catholic Schools, we are proud to offer a variety of scholarships that help make Catholic education accessible to our students. These scholarships are made possible through the generous contributions of alumni, families, and friends, and they support students based on academic achievement, financial need, extracurricular involvement, and Catholic faith. We are deeply grateful for the support that enables us to offer these opportunities to deserving students.

Current Tuition Assistance & Scholarships Available

Doug & Leona (Mimick ’59) Wilson Scholarship
This endowed fund provides two $1,000 scholarships annually: one for a student from St. Anthony Elementary entering Scotus for the first time, and another for a returning Scotus student, with preference for those who attended St. Anthony. Scholarships are based on financial need and demonstration of strong Catholic faith and character. Recipients are selected by the CCS executive director or the scholarship selection committee.

Dennis & Kay Miller Family Scholarship
Established with a gift of $52,198.15, this endowed fund provides scholarships totaling $2,000 annually for students from St. Bonaventure Elementary entering Scotus. Awards may be distributed as four $500 or two $1,000 scholarships. Selection is based on financial need, and any remaining funds support the Campus Ministry Program. Recipients are chosen by the CCS executive director or the scholarship selection committee.

Dennis & Kay Miller Family Entrepreneurship Scholarship
This endowed scholarship supports a junior or senior at Scotus excelling in Business, Marketing, and Information Technology, with a focus on entrepreneurship. A $500 scholarship is awarded annually, with recipients selected by business faculty and the CCS executive director or scholarship committee.

JoAnn Heimann ’69 Spurgin Endowed Scholarship
Created with a $10,000 donation, this scholarship awards $500 annually to a Scotus student who demonstrates strong Catholic faith, character, and financial need. Recipients are chosen by the CCS executive director or the scholarship selection committee.

Chuck & Nancy Gonka Endowed Scholarship
This $5,000 endowed fund provides a $250 scholarship each year to a member of the Scotus boys’ golf team returning in the fall. Recipients are selected based on their performance and sportsmanship in boys’ golf.

Mike Cielocha ’79 Track Achievement Award
Two $125 scholarships are awarded annually to one male and one female Scotus track athlete in grades 9–11. Recipients are selected by Scotus track coaches based on achievement, effort, and team performance, with awards applied to tuition for the following year.

John and Jaci Hain Scholarship
This annually funded scholarship provides two $500 awards—one for a male student and one for a female student attending Scotus. Recipients must demonstrate financial need, strong moral character, and academic achievement.

G.J. (Jerry) Braun and JoAnn (Stavas-Braun) Svajgr Scholarship
This $20,383 endowed fund provides two $500 scholarships each year for students needing tuition assistance. Selection prioritizes financial need, followed by moral character and academic achievement.

Thomas “TJ” Wrigley Scholarship for Excellence in One Act Play
This $500 scholarship supports a Scotus student returning in the fall who has demonstrated exceptional effort, achievement, and teamwork in One Act Play competitions.

Thomas “TJ” Wrigley Scholarship for Business Excellence
Awarded to a returning Scotus student excelling in business courses and FBLA activities, this $500 scholarship recognizes academic performance and outstanding involvement in school business-related programs.

Tim “TK” & Paula Kelly Family Scholarship
With $2,400 in initial funds, this $500 scholarship is awarded to a returning Scotus student based on financial need, moral character, and academic achievement.

Norbert & Loretta Ciecior Scholarship
This endowed fund awards two $500 scholarships annually—one for a male student and one for a female student who previously attended St. Isidore Elementary. Selection is based on financial need, moral character, and academic achievement.

Carol Duren Memorial Scholarship
Details for this scholarship are to be determined, with $1,994.01 currently in the memorial fund.

Mike & Chip Kaup Scholarship
Two $550 scholarships are awarded annually for a minimum of three years to students demonstrating financial need, good character, and academic achievement. Recipients are selected by the CCS president, guidance counselor, and athletic director.

Catholic Daughters Court Little Flower No. 988 Scholarship
Two $150 scholarships are awarded annually—one to a junior high student and one to a senior high student returning to Scotus. Awards are based on financial need.

Patricia (O’Hearn) Cielocha Memorial Scholarship
This $10,000 endowed scholarship provides $729 annually to a returning Scotus student demonstrating financial need and strong Catholic faith and character.

Manny & Millie Cimpl Family Scholarship
Established with a $20,000 donation, this scholarship provides $1,384 annually to a senior Scotus student. Recipients are selected based on financial need, academic achievement, moral character, and participation in extracurricular activities.

David and Norma Duren Scholarships
Eight $500 scholarships are awarded annually to incoming Scotus freshmen based on financial need, moral character, and academic achievement.

Dave & Norma Duren Mathematics Excellence Award
A $750 scholarship is awarded annually to the top Pre-Calculus/Trigonometry student who plans to take Calculus the following year at Scotus.

Dave & Norma Duren STEAM Excellence Award
This $750 scholarship is awarded annually to the top achiever in STEAM who will return to Scotus in the fall.

Dave & Norma Duren/Mable Pekarek Mathematics Development Award
With $1,500 in funding, this award supports math faculty professional development, student math competitions, and new curricula.

Leonard & Doris ’44 Engler Scholarship
This scholarship supports Scotus students needing tuition assistance. Award amounts and recipient numbers vary until funds are depleted.

Leonard and Cec Feehan Family Scholarship
This $18,311.01 endowed fund awards $1,504 annually to students based on financial need, academic achievement, and moral character.

Marilyn Gangel Memorial Scholarship
This $10,000 endowed fund awards $1,593 annually to a student needing tuition assistance, honoring Marilyn’s dedication to education.

Sheridan Gladfelter Endowed Scholarship
This $349 scholarship is awarded annually based on financial need, academic achievement, and moral character.

Lynette Topinka Goins Memorial Scholarship
Two $1,000 scholarships are awarded annually to deserving Scotus students, with selection criteria determined by the president.

Genene Wieser Hayden ’83 Vocal Music Award
Two $500 scholarships are awarded annually to Scotus students participating in vocal music and demonstrating financial need.

Hroza Family Scholarships
Two $500 scholarships are awarded annually to the Male and Female Athletes of the Year.

Kevin & Jacqueline Ingemansen Family Scholarship
This endowed scholarship provides three $500 awards annually to students with financial need, sound moral character, and academic achievement.

Eleanor M. Loshbaugh Scholarship
This $500 scholarship alternates annually between male and female students, based on financial need, academic achievement, and participation in sports.

George & Jeanette Maguire and Family Endowed Memorial Scholarship
This $1,000 scholarship supports a Scotus student with financial need who participates in at least one extracurricular activity.

Jim Puetz Memorial Scholarship
Two $500 scholarships are awarded annually to a male and female Scotus student participating in at least three NSAA athletic activities.

Jeff Podraza Scholarship
This $250 scholarship is awarded annually to a Scotus sophomore or junior planning to pursue a medical career.

Pyramid of Success Scholarship
This fund awards $500 scholarships annually to students needing financial assistance to attend Scotus.

Don & Dorie Schrad Music Scholarship
This endowed scholarship supports students contributing to Scotus band and music programs, with annual awards funded until the corpus can sustain them.
